Facilities & Farms
Ribena
- Lovech
Ribena represents our latest renovation project, combining the last 20 years of technological advancement in freshwater aquaculture with a strategically exceptional location and large-scale production capacity. The result is one of the most innovative and expansive trout farms in Bulgaria.
Located near Bulgaria’s largest karst spring, the farm benefits from a constant supply of high-quality water with minimal temperature variation. Water temperatures remain between 9°C in winter and 16°C in summer, creating optimal conditions for year-round production and consistent fish growth.
These stable conditions allow us to specialise in large Salmon Trout (2.5–4 kg) and Rainbow Trout (1–2 kg), ensuring efficient production cycles and high-quality output. The farm has an annual production capacity of 1000 tons.
Ribena also plays a key role in supplying all our farms with fingerlings, ranging from 5 to 10 grams. Trout eggs are sourced from a Global G.A.P.-certified producer in Spain and transported under strictly controlled conditions to preserve their quality and viability.
Upon arrival, the eggs are placed in hatching trays within a highly controlled hatchery environment. The incoming water undergoes a multi-stage purification process, including biofiltration, nitrogen sterilisation, and UV treatment. This system ensures exceptionally pure water, significantly reducing the risk of infections and maintaining very low mortality rates.
The hatchery has an annual production capacity of 15 tons of fingerlings.

Rila Trout
- Brichebor Fish Farm & Agniloto Fish Farm
Rila Trout operates two aquaculture farms — Brichebor and Agniloto — located within the pristine landscapes of the Rila Mountains. The farms benefit from exceptionally pure, crystal-clear water with minimal human impact, ensuring outstanding quality and ideal conditions for producing premium trout.
Specialising in portion-sized rainbow trout, both sites are focused on delivering high-quality gutted and filleted products. The high-altitude environment supports excellent water quality, contributing to the freshness and consistency of the final product.
Due to the mountainous location, water temperatures vary significantly between seasons. In summer, temperatures rarely exceed 16°C, while in winter they can drop to around 2°C, causing the fish to enter a natural state of reduced activity and slower growth.
To optimize efficiency under these conditions, both farms are strategically focused on portion-sized trout production, ensuring consistent quality and stable operations throughout the year. The farms have a combined annual production capacity of 300 tons.
